The Weekend

Friday

I had a doctor's appointment. It lasted all of fifteen minutes! I think I spent more time commuting to and from his office then actually in the office. I did the protein test and they asked me how I was doing, all the while typing in a bunch of info into the computer. Then he listened to the heartbeat, which we could barely hear. Apparently that's supposed to get easier as I go along. There IS a lot of fat layers between my stomach and the baby. ;-)

Funny thing: I told him about my whole ER ordeal. You know what he said? "Oh yeah.. cysts are comming in many pregnant women. That is what is producing all of your progestoren (sp?)  in the beginning weeks of your pregnancy." Uhh ......... I just sat there. I honestly thought to myself "why the heck couldn't I have talked to you before I spent all that time in the ER?" Grr... So apparently all the pain and throwing up and whatnot is also common. Who knew? He also said the cyst will go away at around four months. Why don't they talk about THAT in What to Expect When You're Expecting?

But, all in all, a good appt. I kinda wish I could have an ultrasound every time I go in, but that's just not meant to be.

That night Jared and I went to go see a movie, The Bounty Hunter. Not that great. Not 17 dollars worth, anyway. I must be getting cheap in my old age, but it seems like most of the movies that come out are waitable. I'd rather pay a buck for a movie I'm not sure is good or not than spend 17 bucks again and be disappointed!

Saturday

I sat on my butt all day and did nothing. Jared had to go into work for some training, and so I had planned to be this domestic goddess and get all of the cleaning done that I've been neglecting. That.. didn't happen. I didn't even take a shower for most of the day. That night we went over to a friend's house to watch the newest season of How I Met Your Mother, which they have DVR'd. It was fun! They have a new baby girl, and Jared wanted to hold her for a few minutes, and I got all teary eyed watching him hold this little baby. He's going to be such a great dad, and I can't wait for the baby to actually get here so he can finally be one!

Sunday

I was sitting in church, surrounded by all these little babies and small children, and the desire to see my child was so fierce that I just wanted to fast forward the next nine months until I can hold him and love on him. I've mostly been consumed with the pregnancy, and I guess I never seriously thought about what happens when the pregnancy is over. Screw being pregnant, I just want my baby to be here! *sighs* I know, I know.. I've got a long, long way to go. I'll enjoy the pregnancy bit after the next few weeks are over, but I am really ready to be a mom and experience the joy that comes from having children and raising them. All in good time, I guess!

I remember feeling like that. Just wanting more than anything to hold her. You'll get there, it really goes by fast!
It was SO fun to hang with you guys. We still have the rest of the season to go! ;)
PS, Jared was SO great with her! It was so cute! He will be an awesome dad. You didn't mention how she was all fussy, then calm when he held her. See? magic touch. :) SO fun!
