My Very First Award

I did this same post over on my book blog, but I'm not sure how many of my family blog readers go over there, so I'm posting this on here as well cause I'm just so excited! I recently joined a book review group (say that three times fast) called Blog with Bite. The group reads paranormal romance/fantasy books, which I've recently become obsessed with. We just got done doing our first review on a book called Never Cry Werewolf. You can see my own review here.

After every review, the head bloggers in charge pick a review from the group to be the "Top Reviewer". This first time around I, Caitlin Peterson, received the award. I have to say, I'm pretty stoked. I didn't join the group to get the award, I was just excited to meet other readers that like the same books I do. But now that I've won it, I feel pretty good. So thanks again (I swear, BWB people, that this is my last time) for the award!

Counting Down...

Wow.

Apparently they've released new posters. I have to say.. I'm seriously impressed. Love, love, LOVE Dakota Fanning. I think she will be absolutely perfect. And of course, we all know my massive slight crush on Taylor Lautner from this post. He's quite dreamy. I can't tell from the poster, but did they get a new Rosalie? She looks different to me.

I know where I'm going to be sometime during the week 11/20. Maybe I can even convince my sister-in-law's to go to the midnight showing. Hmm... So who is not excited about this movie?

That's what I thought. ;-)

There isn’t anyone more excited than a mom waiting for her missionary to walk off the plane.

And.. us, with the missionary.

The Peterson family has this cool tradition for missionaries. They create a poster that has a spot for every day of their mission. When they transfer areas, they go to a new color of sticker. They also have a spot to mark major events that happened on the mission. Jared has one as well as Jessie. Now it’s Cory’s turn to put the sticker on the day he came home.

The Whole Clan

While we were recently in TX for Cory’s homecoming, we scheduled a time to do professional family photos. The last ones that had been taking were before I married Jared and before B was born. Needless to say.. they needed to be updated.

I think they turned out GREAT! Everyone must have been having a good hair day or something. And B was even smiling in the family photo. Let me tell you.. it is hard work to get a baby to smile. Jared and I tried when Craig and Alicia were taking their individual family photos. Mostly she looked at us like we were idiots. But we’ll love her anyway. ;-)

Here they are:

A Surprise

The new apartment that we moved into is literally, three minutes away from where I work. It's WONDERFUL. No more commute, which means I have lots more time in the day to get things done. It also means that I can go home for lunch. Love it! So today I walk in the door and waiting for me on the table is this:

*squeals* I'm so excited I'm about to pee my pants. I'm so incredibly spoiled. Yes, I recognize it. No, I'm not going to do anything about it. ;-) At least I'm not rotten, right?!

I honestly don't know how I'm going to last through the rest of my workday. The book is sitting in my purse, silently calling my name. Aggghh! I don't know if I can handle it.

What gets you so excited that you can hardly stand it?

The Grand Tour

I thought it might be a great idea to take you around to all the new things poppin’ up in the blog. That way you know it’s there and can check things out.

First, there is a navigation bar at the top. They are active buttons and will go to an actual page. I haven’t activated the “about” page yet, but everything else works. I didn’t want to clutter up this one little ol’ blog with all my hobbies, so I made a separate page/blog that connects to this one. It took me forever to figure out how to put that up there, so show some love and click to my other pages at least once, k?

I’m having a ton of fun with my hobby pages. I’ve got a sorta book club going, so if you’re interested in that please visit the page. There is of course my recipe site, which I greatly enjoy doing. I will also be starting up a Chocolate Club, where we make something from The Golden Book of Chocolate cookbook once a month. That will also start up soon. I would absolutely love any or all participation. If not, I promise I won’t be offended. I blog for me and hopefully you readers will get as much enjoyment out of my posts as I do. And of course, there’s my crafting/home decor site that I waxed on about in my last post.

I also have my contact information listed on the sidebar. If you need to contact me for any reason (unless it’s hate mail, which in that case I don’t want to hear it), please e-mail me. I’d love to hear from you. ;-)

And now concludes The Grand Tour. Short and sweet, just how I like it.

Texas Trip

We got back late last week from a lovely trip to TX. Jared’s brother, Cory, just got home from serving a 2 year LDS mission in the Dominican Republic. We left early on the 29th and flew back on the 3rd. It was such a great trip! Cory actually came home on Tuesday, the 1st, so we had a couple of days to relax, shop and hang out. We had some great food (my M-I-L made the most divine Lemon cookies) and the company was of course, the absolute best.

Believe it or not, I actually have lots of pictures. However, I can’t find the cord that connects the camera to the computer (does that cord have a technical name?!). Bugga. That’s the story of my life. So until the-cord-which-can’t-be-named is found (or purchased), just know that the trip was UH-mazing. Truly.

This weekend we are moving. YAY!! We’re moving from our dinky one bed/one bath, 400 sq. ft apartment to a nice, big, beautiful 3 bed/2 bath 1400 sq. ft apartment. What am I going to do with all the extra space? Ooh.. the possibilities. I’ll of course be showing all my decorating tries on my craft/home blog, All Things Crafty. Fortunately, the link for that page can be found at the top of this page in the navigation bar. It’s pretty bare right now, as I haven’t had space, time or funds to do anything much crafty. I’m so excited to actually have a space to decorate/craft I’m about to pee my pants. The Big Move Day will be on Saturday and I’m a little stoked. But just a little.
