Soo... the party was great. But you'll never know, b/c I didn't take any pictures! Agghh!! I was too focused on taking pictures for my food blog, I didn't document anything else. Lame. So, you'll just have to read the monologue of how great it was.
First of all, all the people that I invited... didn't come. Not because they hate me or anything, they just had other plans. At least I hope that's the reason. ;-) And here I thought asking people a week and a half in advance was good! Not so much. Anywho, I kind of lost wind on the party when I got all that news so I didn't make the game. And half the food we had planned didn't get made either. So after all that drama (probably not drama to anyone else, just me), all I wanted to do was wear my fat pants and sit in front of the TV with my mint oreo truffles and gorge myself and watch beautiful Edward. Although after watching it for the third time, I've decided Edward needs to be more buff. Anyway, mom still had some friends coming over and my Aunt was in town and my sister was coming up. It turned out to be REALLY fun. Mom's friends were so funny, the personalities meshed well and it was just great! I didn't wear my fat pants, although I was sorely tempted. I looked cute. But again, you'll never know cause I have no pics! Shame on me. So we had some super great food (please refer to my food blog for pics and recipes), watched a cute movie and had some laughs. In the end.. that's all that matters. Plus it's just nice to have a "girls" night. I love Jared more than anything, but he just doesn't understand sometimes. Ya' need your girl time. Where you can drool over gorgeous guys and not get caught or feel guilty. Ha!
So, I decided that paragraph was too long so I needed a paragraph break. By the way, it's 10pm, past my bed time and I'm slightly punchy. Slightly. Sorry there are no pics, I promise to do better in the future. *places hand over heart* I swear. ;-)

Coming Soon...
My mom and I are co-hosting a Twilight party this coming Saturday night! I wanted to throw one when the movie came out in theaters, but my apartment is barely big enough for Jared and I. It would have been a very "close" party. ;-)We have a super great game planned, some yummy treats and great decor. I'll post the pics and ideas later. Don't want to spoil the fun!

Y'all, We're Going Home
Last night we had a snow storm. Not a huge one, but it snowed nonetheless. It's March 9th and it's still snowing outside! Only in Utah. It's a balmy 26 degrees today. Yipee. As Jared and I were sitting in our toasty apartment, occasionally looking out the window to see if the weather was getting any worse we reafirrmed our decision to move to TX. Yes, that's right ladies and gents, we're moving! Not until the end of May, I'm just so excited I wanted to announce it right now. The Official Moving Plan goes as follows (so far. A lot can happen in two months but Jared and I are pretty solid once we make a plan!):
-Pick up truck and load on Monday, May 25.
-Leave early morning on May 26. Jared driving the moving truck while I follow behind in the comfort of the Tahoe. Oh, I love my vehicle. Er, our vehicle. ;-)
-That will hopefully put us into TX (specifically Flowermound, where Jared's parents have graciously agreed to let us stay for a few months to recover from the poor student stage) on Wednesday night.
That's the plan! It's going to be a long drive and very exhausting moving stuff into the truck and out of the truck etc., etc., but worth it. So very worth it. Jared and I are going home!

So after that big announcement, I thought I'd post this funny picture:

So after that big announcement, I thought I'd post this funny picture:
That's our little Honda on the right, and the Jeep belongs to our neighbor who just moved in. What's wrong with this picture? Oh, could it be that there is a WHOLE empty parking lot and she parks within inches of our car!?!?! The joys of apartment living. We exchanged one neighbor with a screaming baby for one who apparently doesn't know how to park and drinks large bottles of vodka. Go us.

Feedback
So I've been feeling lately that my blog is looking a little cluttered. I've tried to roll all my hobbies into one little blog, and I don't think it's big enough. Along those lines, I've been thinking about starting a separte food blog, where I showcase my baking/cooking experiments or disasters. My goal is to eventually be on par with other foodies such as Bakerella, Bake or Break, and other such bloggers. That will probably be awhile, but.. it's a goal nonetheless. And then my even grander schemes would be to open my own small catering business someday (that's a LONG ways down the road) out of my home. So, I need some feedback. The Hubby thinks it's a great idea, but I think he'll like any idea that makes me happy. And he's a little bias (but oh so cute!). So, I've been batting around a few names for the blog/website and here's what I have come up with so far:
Cait's Cafe
Simply Delicious
Tiny Kitchen, Big Dreams (which is SO true. I'll have to post a picture of how ridiculously small my kitchen is.)
So let me know what you think! About the names or about the idea. And yes, I'm on my knees begging for comments. I've even changed it so that if you don't have a blogger identity you can still post.
Thanks a bunch!

Yet Another Cookie Recipe
Yes, it's rapidly becoming apparent what my favorite yummy treat is! This particular cookie recipe is donated by my mom. She had made these Sunday morning and when Jared and I came over for dinner, they were there waiting for us.. begging to be eaten. Take it from this cookie lover, these chocoalte blizzard cookies are simply delicious.
Chocolate Blizzard Cookies
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1 cup large semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup pecans, chopped
Beat butter, sugar, and baking soda for 30 seconds. Beat in cooled chocolate, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour. Add chips and nuts. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until tops look dry. Cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute before moving to wire racks to cool. Makes 3-1/2 dozen.
