My Favoritest Place

If you know me even a little bit, you know that I love, love, LOVE to read. And this picture above is the magnificent, awe-inspring SLC Public Library. Four floors of nothing but books. Of course, my favorite is the 2nd level where the fiction books are, but it's nice to know the other floors are there just in case I may need them. I cannot even describe to you how much I love this place! I can check out as many books as I want, it's a quiet in the building and I just love the amount of knowledge gathered in one place. If we do move, I'm going to miss this library more than anything. I'm not sure why I'm writing a post about this, other than going to this library is definitely one of my most favorite things to do. Since I've been "school widow" for the last few weeks, I've definitely been getting a lot of reading in. Jared will also be gone for most of the summer at one army school or another, so this library and I are going to be best friends ;-). Love it!

Everyone I Know...

Is pregnant. Or just had a baby or already has a baby. What is the deal? It must be the spring weather or something. Literally, all of the couples in our friend groups are pregnant! We're the last ones apparently. I was venting about it a few months ago to Jared and I said "The only other couple besides us that isn't pregnant is Mitch and Katie. Thank goodness for them!" And the very next day she calls us and tells us she is pregnant! Oh, the irony. She just found out she's having a girl. Congrats to her! Honestly.. I love that people are building their families and it makes me so happy to hear when someone is pregnant. It's just one of those "I feel like the last woman on earth that isn't pregnant" kinda feelings. Irrational, I know.

I had a great weekend with my in-laws! We had a girls trip up to Rexburg to drop Jessie off at college. I went to BYU-Idaho for three semesters and that was about enough for me. I'm a city girl all the way and had a hard time with small town life. We got her all set up and had such a good time chattin' about different things. For pics, please visit my sis-in-law's blog. Just don't look at the pic of me. Yuck!

And... that's about all the news. Jared's graduation is on May 8th! I'm counting down the days. Silently, since it bugs Jared when I remind him. He's too busy taking tests and writing papers or some such thing. I will DEFINITELY remember to bring my camera for that occasion!

WOW

Okay, so I'd read or heard somewhere that Taylor Lautner was working out BIG time in preparation for New Moon. Whoa. Talk about eye candy!!!!

Go TEAM JACOB!!

Agh! Here's another one. Stop it.

I'm 24!!

My birthday was last Friday and it was SUCH good day! Last year Jared was still in Iraq on my birthday, so I went to the store and picked up my present myself. Lame! (Not the present, just being by myself). This year I was incredibly spoiled. My oh so cool sister-in-law took me out to lunch to Zuppa's, which is the BEST. It's pannini, salad, soup type place and it was so good! And it was fun to see my little niece throw her food around the resturant. Okay, that's an exaggeration but a lot of it did end up on the floor. So cute! Then Jared took me to The Cheesecake Factory that night for dinner, and it was the first time I'd ever been. Wow. The menu was fifteen pages long, I swear, and it took me forever to decide on what I wanted to eat. Everything was delicious! And then we came home and he watched Pride and Prejudice with me. I love that movie.

Saturday Jared spent the whole day shopping with me. He's such a trooper! We went to Kohl's, and he will sit there and watch me try on all the clothes. He's definitely my favorite shopping buddy. Sunday was Easter and we went over to my mom's house and did my birthday and Easter together. This year I sent out a birthday list to my siblings to make the shopping a little bit easier. I am now converted to the gift wish list. So much easier on the shopper, plus I get what I want. Anyway, the dinner was also good and we had carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting for dessert.

All in all, it was a SPECTACULAR weekend. I love my birthday. This week Jared's mom and sister are coming in to town to take her up to Rexburg for the semester, so we're excited to see them. Hopefully I'll remember to bring my camera and take some pictures. Not doing so hot on that!

A Conversation

Let me set the scene.. I'm madly rushing to finish doing my hair (as usual) so that I'm not too late for work. Jared just gets out of the shower, shakes his head and is done (arrgg.. the injustice!!) and is getting dressed. Jared standing in front of our gun cabinet, contemplating.

Cait: What are you doing?
Jared: I love guns. You know what I love most? There's a gun for
every outfit.
HAHAHA!!! Oh, how I love my Jared. I might be the only one that thinks this is funny, but I thought it was interesting that he'd say the same thing about guns as I would shoes!

Three Reasons Why I Hate Snow

Yes, it's April 1st and it's blizzarding outside! Will someone please explain to me WHY we have gotten more snow in the last three weeks than in the whole winter combined?! Anyone? I think Global Warming is a bunch of bunk. Anyone who says it exists can take a little trip up to Utah and experience our spring snow showers. I hate snow for the following reasons:

1. It's dangerous to drive in, even if you have four wheel drive, such as myself. For some reason, snow causes the already bad Utah drivers to be even worse. If that's possible. They're pretty bad!
2. You have to wear ugly winter jackets that cover up whatever cute outfit you're wearing. Plus, the bottom's of your pants get all wet and then the hems get all scraggly and you have to go buy new jeans eventually, or roll up the hems of the pants you have causing you look like a dork. And then your ankles get cold.
3. I hate, and I mean HATE with a firing buring passion having to scrape my car. Grr...

As for other news.. there isn't much. I do have an update on the TX move, I guess. After we made the decision to move in May, we started talking about it (again), and we thought that maybe it would be a better idea to wait until Jared actually has a job before we move down. Plus, we'd move down in May and then Jared would have to turn around and come back up here for another two weeks of army training in June (it's going to be a very lonely summer for me). So, we're still moving to TX, the date just has been pushed back. This way we're hoping Jared will get a job and then we'll be able to move right into a house. And then we can have a garage and I will never have to scrape my car again. Woo hoo!

Jared has four weeks left of school! Four weeks of classes, then a week of finals and then graduation ceremony is on May 8. I. CAN'T. WAIT. I'm trying to be supportive and not be too excited, b/c these next four weeks are going to be tough for Jared. He's in two capstone classes and there is a ton of work involved. He had drill this past weekend, and on saturday night they got released early and he and his friends went to a classic car show. I went with him last year, and I think he had way more fun going with his buddies than me. Not that he doesn't love me, I just don't have the same appreciation for cars that he and his friends do. He did take lots of pics, and there are some really beautiful classic cars out there! Someday when we have a shop, Jared is going to rebuild a car himself. Not sure what it will be yet, but whatever it is, Jared will make it look great.

As for me, I've recently discovered that I love working out. I've lost 5lbs. so far! I've been working out consistently for the last three weeks and I love it. I'm happier, I eat healthier and I just feel better. Plus, my pants fit better too! That's always a bonus. Since I've started my food blog I've been amping up my workouts, knowing that I'm going to be doing a lot of baking! It's awesome to know that I can bake something and eat it and not feel guilty or that it's going straight to my thighs. I'm really enjoying my food blog. I don't know if anyone reads it, but it's forcing me to try new things, learn new things, and broaden my palate. I love to eat, and I love it even more when I make it. I'm still working, but I've been putting out resumes, looking to see what else is out there. I've discovered that it's a lot easier looking for a job when I already have one. There's not so much pressure and I don't get wigged out at every interview. If I get the job, fantastic. If not, then it's not such a big deal. I'll keep you updated, let you know how things are going. My birthday is next week! I'll be turning 24, and for some reason that sounds so old to me. 24, agh! That's one year closer to 25!

I never know how to end posts like this. So I'm just going to do this.. The End.

***Edit. Sorry this was such a long post! I was just typing away and didn't realize how long it was. I quite the yakker, apparently.
